Trailers and semi-trailers · category O

UNECE R156 for trailer manufacturers: the SUMS, without the extras.

Electronic brakes, control units and telematics bring software to category O vehicles too. Omolia turns on the R156 module only and prepares a SUMS manual, procedures and registers in proportion to your company.

Only what you need

Your workspace has R156 only: no R155 modules or documents that do not concern you. If one day you need the CSMS too, you turn it on.

Control unit suppliers

Trailer software often comes from brake and telematics suppliers. The questionnaire and SUMS agreement with the control unit supplier are already in the catalogue.

RXSWIN and software register

Each approved type with its RXSWIN, the vehicles' software versions and the readout test: all linked, all up to date.

The R156 requirements where auditors stop

An excerpt of the R156 matrix with the catalogue documents covering each requirement: update management, configuration, RXSWIN and interference with other regulations.

Each cell tells whether that document covers the requirement and what state it is in. A row with no documents turns red: you know what is missing before the audit.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does a trailer manufacturer also need a CSMS (R155)?

It depends on the market and the vehicle type: check with your technical service. In Omolia R155 and R156 are separate modules: start with R156 and add R155 only if and when you need it.

Our trailers are not updated over the air. Do we still need a SUMS?

The SUMS covers every software update, including those done in the workshop with the diagnostic tool. If you do no OTA updates the OTA procedure is not generated: the documents follow your profile's answers.

Where do we start?

From the process profile: roles, systems, suppliers and timings. From there Omolia generates the applicable document set, to review section by section with your team.
